How do i hunt coyotes?

You can kill coyotes with a .22 long rifle but should really use something more powerful. There are many .22 caliber high power rifles around and if you want something that will do the trick very nicely and will also be great for deer and antelope, something like the .243 would be nice. Much will depend on how much open space you have because the more powerful the rifle the greater the potential for stray shots traveling across fences into your neighbor's cow herd. That makes for a pissed off neighbor. If there is no danger of shots traveling too far and hitting something uncomfortable then the .22/250 would definitely be my choice. Wind is very important...so much so that many times a coyote will circle the sound of a call trying to check on the scent. So check the wind and expect the critters to come at you upwind. If they get downwind they'll just mosey off to some other food source. Best time would be early morning or late evening. Can you shoot coyotes at night? If so, a good spotlight and calling will work great. Be sure to aim the spot above ground level, you'll get the reflection of their eyes. If you sweep the center beam around at ground level you'll "burn" them and they will turn tail. Also, some hunters put a red lens over the light, which helps in not alerting the animals. An added attraction could be using bait but check the game laws about night hunting and using bait. Many times these laws don't apply to varmints but coyotes may be seasonal and protected. Also, if you're considering their fur, it will be better in the winter than the summer. If calling you can get shots well under 100 yards. If you're using a scope-sighted rifle this can be challenging finding the animal in the scope. Scent, your scent, is important because if they smell you they're off and running. There are some excellent articles written on hunting coyotes, even with bow and arrow. Good luck and enjoy.

I live in a subdivision with them all around. We foster cats, and they have been dissapering.. We have had rain all week almost so maybe coyotes are coming around but i have no idea. We checked the pound for our kitty and it wasnt there... Its a white fat cat with 3 legs(Born that way) and the prettiest eyes...It was a spayed female...And it always sat in our yard! Try and find what he responds to like clicking or patting, that type of stuff. You're not horrible at singing. You CAN sing. The problem that you have is, you tend to go "flat" on some pitches while singing. Going flat can alter the song, making it sound less than good. You know? So to help you, think "above the pitch". Also, in your Maroon 5 video, when you sang "She willll be luh huh huhved", take away the 'h' sound. When you're singing the word "loved", always keep an open mouth like you're saying the word "ah". You should sing 'loved' more like, "laaaaahhh ahved". The descending pitches while singing the word "loved" should be smooth without the 'h' sound interfering. Hope this is understandable!

Dogs, especially older ones get fatty tumors quite often. If he seems otherwise healthy and happy, eating normally etc I would just keep an eye on it. If he seems like he is in pain or his eating habits change I would take him in to the vet. It was very kind of you to take him in but if you can't afford him perhaps you could check with a local rescue that may take him in. What it comes down to is you have to do what's best for the dog. I agree. People on state assistance have no business going around having sex and babies. I mean, once a woman is pregnant, the chances of her being back in the work scene for the next couple of years is practically nil. People can have babies or do what they want, but they should not do it while they are surviving on other people's money. A kukri is designed as a hacking blade, not for slicing. The saw back would do nothing but weaken the blade, if the blade were made properly you would be able to hack through a limb much faster than you could saw through it. That is why I use the kukri design in my machetes. Look for a quality knife, for corrosive environments stainless is best but for edge holding and strength carbon steel is best and for a survival knife a selectively tempered blade of 5160 is the best. I regularly make these that can be dropped on their points form eye level and leave a divot in my concrete floor without damage to the blade. Good luck.

Yes and No. We'll start with the proposition that you know where they are and you can shoot in the area. Coyotes have had a lot of interaction with people and in many areas they have been hunted so they are smart and wary. Best time is early morning and early evening, just before sun comes up and just after it goes down...though they can be hunted in the middle of the day and can be hunted, in some states, in the night time. Best method is to call, either using an electronic call (some states prohibit electronic devices for hunting) or a mouth call. The call replicates the sound of a dying or injured rabbit....which to the coyote sounds like a free lunch (or breakfast or dinner, depending). The hunter needs to be hidden or camouflaged, and has to be aware of the wind. Coyotes may circle the sound to check for scent and if the coyote gets your scent he's out of there. Time of year to hunt really shouldn't be in springtime when they give birth because if you kill a mother out hunting for the kids you leave the kids to starve. Also, if you're going for the fur, winter is better. You can kill a coyote with a .22 long rifle but most hunters use something more powerful. Pistols will also work. Your shots should be much less than 100 yards. If using a voice caller (as opposed to electronic) two hunters often work well, one to call, the other to watch. But it is best if only one hunter is in the area. Two at max. Good luck.

Anyone have an answer to our coyote problem?

We have had a recent issue with Coyote in our area. My mother runs every day for about 5-10miles in the woods and it hasn't been an issue till recently that shes had coyotes actually follow her and our 4 dogs she runs with. She was scared to death today when two coyotes ran close beside, chasing her out of the woods. I've asked her to carry possibly a weapon or some type of defense if they ever did attack. We are worried however about our 4 dogs. 2 of the 4 actually run off and later join her at the end of the run so we are concerned about the coyotes attacking them while they are off alone. Also we are concerned that they would attacked the other 2 dogs that follow her, these ones are older and very defensive. What would anyone more educated in this field propose we do? I need to know something before i head off to college?

All the animals listed can be found in climates that vary seasonally so that is a push. Give your reader a base to start with, then let their imaginations take over. Why am i hurting on my low left side outer pain?

Ok so i was wondering why i have been hurting on my lower left side on the front of my body its not appendicitis cuz i had that a few years ago and got that removed its an outer pain almost like i pulled a muscle now i was doing situps and i could have pulled a muscle its been bout e weeks now its not like a bad pain more of a annoying pain. since m step dad and step sister moved in with my family, it changed how we were. my family is very open, happy, and family dedicated. i get along with my mom and two brothers. no social problems and secrets at all, but this was around since i was like 8 years old. i knewmy step dad since i was born. he was my moms coworker andhelped my mom since she came here from phillippines in the mid 90s. my step dad liked me more when i was younger then now. i was excited to have a step sister becasue i grew up with brothers. she is 5yolder. she didnt talk much and the only words that came out her mouth was how much money she needed and what she wanted.her sneaky and quiet self attitude rubbed off on me year by year. i hate my sister with passion because her attitude and habits irritated me so much and i hate how her fat white aass comes out her room because im usually happy when shes preoccuppied with her laptop hiding in her room. i know its bad to think this way but its so complicated in this house. i keep my anger and thoughts in my head for years and its like eating me away and changing me and like i only act like this at the house or when we do family trips. i wish my step sister moves out because since they camehear we started departing from each other and we talk behind each others backs and other horrible problems that makes me want to explode or punch a big hole. i dont know but its kind of true that everyone is happier when shes gone for a while. my thoughts give me anegative vibe when ever i think hard about her and it pisses my mom when ever i seem unpleasent. this sister is my only excuse why im never the same. before they came here i was realy talkative but now since our family is so awkward and cold and detached i dont know how to talk to my family anymore. and i am the youngest and it makes me feel the deepest in the hole and this family is making me feel so unhealthy but im 15 and i blame the whole horomones-teenage-pubrty phase andmy worst mistake was being introduced to drugs at school like marijuana and ecstacy and shrooms! like for 7 years ive been fighting myself and it makes me feel like im developing a mental disorder and i cant manage to ask the damn doctor because im too fcking quiet. i always feel anxiousand worried and like i feel like im in deep shiit and sorta paranoid andi feel hyper for acouple of minutes. i mentoned this to my mom but shes jus thinks im getting oblivious and exaggerating about it and then i would fight with myself in my head and think how retarded i am. im glad im finally saying this and srry for the misspellings because im doin all this on a kindle

Are coyotes a threat to my mare and her soon-to-be foal?

Hi! I have a mare who will more than likely foal within the next couple of weeks. About 3 people, including me, were sitting by the barn yesterday at 6. A coyote came out of the woods walked up to us about 30 feet away, then he just walked away. It was daylight and I am really worried about the safety of my mare and foal. Will coyote's attack horses? What will happen if he tries? How can I keep my horses out of danger. They're boarded so I can't leave them up overnight. I don't know what to do! :'( Please help!

But she wouldn't leave me alone, she kept standing and there and asking me if I was purchasing a watch for my boyfriend (*sarcasm*yes because I would totally purchase a lady's watch for my non existent boyfriend). Before I had time to answer my friends thought it'd be amusing to shout 'YES." The saleswoman seemed surprise and she kept asking me if he was rich and handsome. She kept going off rather unprofessionally about my how supposedly lucky my non existent boyfriend was. At this point I was extremely embarrassed and very uncomfortable, but my *wonderful* peers decided to take advantage of the awkward moment and hint that my non existent boyfriend was an unemployed nobody. The saleswoman continued to patronize me saying that he probably had a secret hidden stash of money at home hidden from me and that he was a drug dealer. At this point nobody laughed not even my friends because I just stood there stunned. She walked away and I immediately left the store. I probably over reacted but the woman's intentions were to humiliate me which was a shame because I didn't tell my mum about that specific store and found another one with a better price on the watch. I guess my question is have you had a similar experience to mine?

Nervous To Jog Advice?

aw don't worry, you see all kinds of people jogging! most people will probably be inspired that you're taking action to live a healthier life while they're sitting on their butts as they drive by. anyway,running is amazing:). seriously, i started this year and i'm in love with it! you have to remember to not expect a whole lot though at first-i thought i was fit because i played tennis competively and i was convinced i could go run for an hour, but the first time i went jogging, i had to stop after ten minutes. a flat path though shouldn't be too bad. just remember not to eat too soon before running to prevent cramps. also, stretch before and after to prevent muscle soreness. stay hydrated, and take an ipod along to pump you up! good luck with your running!:)

Is This poem Any Good?

I love it. The extensive use of imagery especially impresses me. The various sounds mentioned, screams, songs, cries, cracks, and wails are my favorite, but there's not any of that in the second stanza, so, if I were to suggest one thing, it would be to try to make the second stanza as pleasing to the minds eye, and the minds ear, as the first. The feel of the meter and rhythm really do feel like the old west though, I'm very impressed.

Our older cat was attacked by a coyote (actually, I have suspicions that SHE might have attacked the coyote!) two weeks ago. She survived, a little bruised, but nothing major. The younger cat won't come near her--hisses and growls when she catches wind of the older cat. They used to be great friends. Should I bathe her? Or just continue to wait it out?

What .308 rifle should I get?

What rifle should i get, I am pretty set on the .308 and want it for coyote, hog, and deer. What rifle would be good for these game. It needs to be a compact bolt action and would prefer a detachable mag and has good out of the box iron sights and it needs to be durable and reliable. I like the Gunsight Scout made by Ruger but I want to know some others that are the same price or lower than it that meet my specifications and also ammunition choices.

How can I take care of a wild adolescent deer?

There is a pretty young deer in my backyard (fenced all the way around and is a little smaller than an acre) and I think it's mother died a few weeks ago because my neighbors said it smelled like something died near them and there were a bunch of hawks flying around. It has a cut by one of its eyes and a bunch of scratches across its chest. I don't want to call animal control because they will just put it down probably. Can I join the Marines with Adult ADHD?

I'm going to be a college graduate next year and have been thinking about joining the Marines after I graduate. I, of couse, am interested in becoming an Marine Corps Officer. I have been diagnosed with ADHD, but I am highly functioning and don't "have" to take my medication. I survived the first three years of college without it, but I like taking it because it does help me. I know that the Marines are stricter about medical waivers but is there any chance I can get a medical waiver? If I have amazing PFT and ASVAB scores and college degree with a good GPA and no history of drug abuse and am after a MOS that will keep me most likely out of the line of fire, is there any chance at all? Is there a MOS that would be good for me to choose? I'm in between Intelligence and Public Affairs. And if I do get a waiver, would I be allowed to take my medication during training? I also have tattoos, I have a heart behind my ear and rose vines down both sides of my back and rose vine on my left arm (easiest description). The one on my arm would show and behind my ear. I got them before I thought about joining the Marines, and they are not related to gangs or anything, and I work in childcare and I'm allowed to show my tattoos at work, so I think it's dumb I will need a tatt waiver, when I can show my VPK class my tatts and most military and my children's parents have tatts.
