How to protect your pets from coyotes?

I have a rabbit and Iive by the mountains. A few years ago, a coyote ate my rabbit when he got out (we know he got out because we found his bones and fur in my neighbor's yard), and my neighbors cat got eaten later, too. Cats are common here. Will the coyote eat the cats instead? I have a 5 to 6 ft metal fence, and all the other walls are 6 ft or taller. I know that coyotes can jump 6 ft, but do u think my bunny is in danger? If so, how can I protect him?
