Why does current day America tolerate illegal immigration?

Back in my day we hated how the Mexicans took the Alamo. Back in my day we did not allow those damn coyotes to come over in packs and infest our country. Back in my day we left the immigrants in ghettos. Now we let these aliens come over and conquer our country. I'm glad that I will pass on soon since I would hate to see how this country goes to hell in a hand basket.
