Thoughts on Aleksandar?

I'm not having a baby or anything, but I was just wondering what people think of Aleksandar? I'm pretty against misspellings, but what about this name. Aleksandar is a perfectly acceptable way to spell Alexander, it is just more common is other countries. I also like Alek more than Alex, so I was just wondering if this appears like 1 of the million misspellings or a nice traditional name that is uncommon in the US.
