How unique is "too unique" for a name?

When people want to name their kids something horribly boring to the point it's just unattractive and outdated like Richard or Bertha, or when people go the other way and name their kids after inanimate objects or name their kids something that sounds almost made up, that's where I draw the line. For example, I kind of like the names Hollis for a girl... and that's not nearly as bad as some of the stuff people come up with on here.
