How can I take care of a wild adolescent deer?

There is a pretty young deer in my backyard (fenced all the way around and is a little smaller than an acre) and I think it's mother died a few weeks ago because my neighbors said it smelled like something died near them and there were a bunch of hawks flying around. It has a cut by one of its eyes and a bunch of scratches across its chest. I don't want to call animal control because they will just put it down probably. I don't know how it got in my backyard and what to do...if I let it go it will probably get eaten by a coyote or some predator. If it wanted to leave the yard it would just jump over the fence right(i'm guessing that's how it got it)? What can I do to help it recover or survive?
