Do you think a .22lr is adequate for hunting coyotes and bobcats?

Define "Adequate", because there's a difference between killing and stopping. I would suggest a .223 for coyotes, they have a flatter trajectory so you can hunt them without getting too close for comfort, and send a heavier bullet downrange
